Work History

RESEARCHER PHD STUDENT (FULL TIME) AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT (PART TIME)

Aarhus University
09.2021 - 03.2025
  • Company Overview: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Innovative Training Network (MSCA-ITN) Fellow (grant Hyperboost - boosting effects of radiotherapy). https://hyperboost.eu/
  • Investigated the additive/synergistic effects of combining ionizing radiation (photons and protons) on cancers using mouse tumor and normal tissue models.
  • Focused on the establishment of hypofractionated radiation and hyperthermia, optimizing treatment intervals and applied temperatures.
  • Investigated the underlying mechanisms for their synergy that includes such as hypoxia, and DNA damage, and assessed hyperthermia as an adjuvant for FLASH radiation.
  • Conducted normal tissue studies to evaluate potential toxicity for determining overall therapeutic benefit.
  • Research interests include oncology, immunology, particle therapy, tumor microenvironment, hyperthermia, stereotactic radiation, hypoxia, and DNA damage.
  • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Innovative Training Network (MSCA-ITN) Fellow (grant Hyperboost - boosting effects of radiotherapy). https://hyperboost.eu/
  • Full time PhD Student position held till 30th November, 2024.
  • Held a research assistant position from 1st December 2024 to 31st March 2025 (part time).
  • Successfully defended my PhD on 12th March, 2024.

ACADEMIC/STUDENT ASSISTANT (HIWI)

Max Planck Institute of Brain Research
03.2019 - 03.2021
  • Computational reconstruction of 3D electron microscopy data (Brain Images) using online software tool (Webknossos).
  • This involve identifying and tracing of specialised cellular components.
  • Duration of work: 01-04-2019 to 30-09-2020 and 1-01-2021 to 31-03-2021.

ACADEMIC ASSISTANT (HIWI)/MASTER THESIS STUDENT

Georg Speyer Haus, Institute of Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy
02.2020 - 02.2021
  • Project Title: Modeling Adaptive Immune responses in patient derived colorectal cancer organoids.
  • This study developed and optimized 3D co-culture models using patient-derived tumor organoids (PDTOs) and both primary and CAR-engineered CD8+ T cells to evaluate immune responses in colorectal cancer.
  • Key findings include successful T cell expansion with a desirable stem/memory phenotype, identification of compatible culture conditions, and CAR-T cell-mediated organoid cytotoxicity.
  • The work establishes a platform for personalized, high-throughput immunotherapy testing.
  • Master thesis Grade: 1.5 (German Scale).
  • 3D Cell/Organoid Culture; Flow Cytometry panel design and analysis; PBMC isolation and culture; Immunophenotyping; T Cell Organoid Coculture; Lentiviral Transduction; Luciferase Assay.

MASTER STUDENT ASSISTANT

Institute of Cell Biology and Neuroscience, Goethe University
09.2019 - 11.2019
  • Assisted in cell culture practical course by mentoring first year master students in their laboratory work.
  • Also planned and prepared the required reagents required for the cell culture practical course.

IGEM TEAM MANCHESTER GRAZ 2015

Manchester Institute of Biotechnology
11.2014 - 08.2015
  • Lab team member: planned and carried out scientific investigations that includes performing standard lab techniques for preparation, transformation and characterization of engineered bacterial plasmids.
  • Developed HPLC methods to separate compounds involved in metabolic pathway of Dopamine in engineered bacteria.
  • Administrative activities include: Communicating to academics and companies for funding, maintaining file for finances, lab consumables, conference registration.
  • Assisted in making the team presentation, team wiki page and engaged in outreach activities.
  • Modeling Team Leader: Quantitatively determined the effects of diet sources on the synthesis of Dopamine and its derivative using computational approach.
