The primary research field as a senior adviser at the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources involves studying the temporal and spatial distribution and abundance of marine mammals in the Arctic. I am particularly interested in investigating the effects of anthropogenic and climatic changes on Arctic marine mammals, with a focus on understanding the long-term effects of drivers affecting cetacean population health and dynamics.
In recent years, my focus has increased on bridging the gap between scientific and local knowledge, exploring ways to incorporate both perspectives into research initiatives specifically focusing on enhancing communication and outreach to managers and the general public.
