  • Financial Crime risk advisory services for Large Corporates and Financial Institutions (LC&I), including Asset Management. Leading a team of experienced financial crime risk officers providing advisory services to the LC&I business in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, and covering advisory services towards international branches in UK, Ireland and Poland in respect of Danske Group central processes and controls.
  • Supporting the business through identification of financial crime risks and providing advice to enable risk owners to make appropriate decisions on strategic objectives and thematic risks.
  • Supporting Asset Management division as part of LC&I, including advisory services for the Fund Management Companies, mostly towards Danske Invest Asset Management and its branch in Luxembourg.

  • Acting as a delegate for the Denmark Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRP), with team members in various countries, acting as delegates for the country AMLRP. Responsibilities included approvals for decisions on customers with identified FC concerns, PEP and EUHRTC approvals as well as restricted or prohibited portfolios.
  • Reporting and submissions to formal and informal governance committees in respect of risks facing the business, with the aim to inform and obtain decisions for risk management actions.
  • Financial Crime risk advisory services for Business Customers business unit up until May 2024, services were the same as for LC&I. Special focus on customers that are deemed to pose a heightened financial crime risk that required additional due diligence over and above enhanced due diligence.
  • Financial Crime Central Risk Advisory Services, leading a team of experienced risk officers that provided advisory services to the whole Group and covering all FC risk typologies.
  • Providing advisory services related to improvements, changes and updates to processes and controls, as well as input into policies across risk typologies: Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing, Sanctions, Anti-bribery and corruption, Tax Evasion and Fraud.
  • Set up and maturing a team that is responsible for segment risk reviews, performing deep dives into risks identified through group-wide risk assessments and management information. This was pro-active in nature to determine the extent of the risk and the extent to which controls effectively manage risks, resulting in recommendations taken forward through formal governance.
  • Coordination of network cases that involved a large number of customers to determine risk management decisions on the future banking relationships with customers. These were group-wide, spanning 1st and 2nd lines of defence, functional areas and all Business Units (LC&I, Business Customers and Retail). Cases included tax evasion, lending fraud, sanctions circumvention, organised crime and professional enablers.
  • Coordination of the Lessons Learned 1st line reviews to determine what improvements can be made to the risk and control framework to learn from past and external events.
  • Analysis of mined data on adverse media cases to determine extent of risk exposure, as well as strength of controls and identification of risk management actions where required.
  • Policy implementation simplification initiatives focussed on creating efficiencies within the process and control framework with a view to be more effective in managing risks. This included collaboration with 2nd line policy teams and legal to understand the legal requirements and identifying the risks that do require additional controls, whilst creating efficiencies where there is low risk.
  • Regulatory and internal review remediation, involvement in a number of initiatives to enable the Danske Bank to close regulatory orders, inspections and internal review observations raised by 2nd and 3rd line of defence. This included the Group Financial Crime Plan under Danish FSA, commitments under the plea agreement with the US Department of Justice, and Norwegian FSA.
  • People Management of a multi-location team, including salary & performance reviews, development and succession planning and execution. Adhering to HR policies in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Lithuania.
